Slitting and rewinding are two connected but different processes used in roll-to-roll converting. Slitting divides a wide parent roll into narrower strips, while rewinding forms those strips into finished rolls with the required width, length, tension, and roll hardness.
Slitting rewinding machines and traditional cutting methods both divide wide materials into smaller pieces, but they differ significantly in speed, consistency, labor requirements, and finished-roll quality.
